How to use this for a print-farm scaling decision
Enter the economics of one printer, then set the number of printers and the utilization level you can realistically maintain. Compare modeled production capacity with the number of orders you expect to sell. If sales remain below capacity, adding printers may not change modeled revenue; if capacity is below demand, additional printers can increase the number of successful prints the operation can fulfill.
Limitations of this model
- The model assumes one successful print per order and does not account for multi-item orders, batching, or shared shipping costs.
- Utilization is a planning assumption and does not model maintenance downtime, queueing, setup delays, or changing production schedules.
- Sales volume is treated as a monthly input and does not model seasonality, customer acquisition, or demand growth.
- Results are estimates for planning purposes only, not financial or investment advice.
